Welcome to Urbanstance (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Studio”). By accessing or using our website (aetherkiln.com), making a purchase, or interacting with any of our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to any portion of these Terms, please refrain from using our site or purchasing our goods.
These Terms apply to all users, including browsers, customers, merchants, and contributors of content. Our commitment to slow craftsmanship extends to transparent, ethical commerce.
2. Products & Craftsmanship
Urbanstance offers limited-edition apothecary goods, ceramic vessels, incense blends, and ritual objects. Each piece is often handcrafted by independent artisans; therefore natural variations in color, texture, and size are celebrated as marks of authenticity. Product descriptions on our site aim to reflect these unique characteristics.
We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time. Any stated weight, volume, or dimensions are approximate. All products are subject to availability, and we may limit quantities per order.
3. Orders & Pricing
All prices are listed in USD and do not include applicable taxes or shipping fees unless noted. We reserve the right to adjust prices and shipping rates without prior notice. After placing an order, you will receive an email confirmation; however, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for reasons including but not limited to product unavailability, pricing errors, or suspected fraud.
If your order is canceled after payment, we will issue a full refund to the original payment method. Payment methods accepted: major credit cards, PayPal, and Urbanstance gift cards.
4. Shipping & Kiln Policies
We ship worldwide from our studio hubs. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout but are not guaranteed. Shipping costs are calculated based on weight, destination, and carrier. Title to products passes to you upon shipment; we are not liable for delays or losses caused by carriers or customs.
For international orders, customers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, or import fees. Please note that some ceramic objects are fragile — we take extreme care in packaging, but if an item arrives damaged, refer to our returns section below.
5. Returns & Exchanges
We accept returns of unused, unwashed, and undamaged products within 14 days of delivery. To initiate a return, contact studio@aetherkiln.com. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the item arrived defective or incorrect. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Due to hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened apothecary items (incense, oils, balms) unless defective. Exchange requests for alternative pieces depend on current stock levels. Refunds are processed within 10 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including but not limited to product photography, branding, copy, illustrations, packaging designs, and the “Urbanstance” trademark — is our exclusive property or that of our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to us (e.g., reviews or social media tags), but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and promote that content in connection with our brand.
7. Privacy & Data
Your privacy is sacred. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our site, you consent to our data practices as described therein. We never sell your data to third parties. We use encrypted payment gateways and secure socket layer (SSL) technology.
You may receive marketing emails only after opting in; you can unsubscribe anytime via the link in our emails.
8. Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urbanstance and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our products or website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to your purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product in question.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some limitations may not apply to you. We do not warrant that our site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
For EU customers, mandatory consumer protections under local law remain unaffected.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or operational needs. The revised version will be indicated by an updated “Last revised” date and will be effective immediately upon posting. We encourage you to review this page regularly. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
